GAP Meetups: the Right Place for Real Connections
You’ve probably heard me go on and on about “the Pub” and how I plan to host most of our meetups there, with a long-term dream of maybe even running my pub/coffeeshop someday. After hosting the first three meetups at a pub, we deeply discussed what kind of venue would be best to kick off the GAP project.
Here’s the deal: our meetups are about having thought-provoking discussions on specific topics that either arm you with new knowledge or make you think, “Whoa, I need to rethink my entire life.” At the same time, we’re here to meet new people and form real connections, so we need a spot where the focus isn’t just on who can chug a pint the fastest. If we meet somewhere where alcohol is the star of the show, it might throw off the vibe and make it harder to have those deep, lasting connections we’re after. Plus, let’s be real – we want to make sure the place reflects the values we stand for. If a venue’s vibe promotes the opposite of what we believe, we’d rather not unconsciously support it.
With that in mind, we’ve decided to host our GAP Meetups in two to three different locations. We’ll switch between pubs and coffee shops to keep things exciting and fresh! But, since we’re just getting started, I have to be honest – we’re going to be spending more time in coffee shops than pubs for now.
So, whether you're a coffee lover, a pub enthusiast, or just someone looking for great conversations, stay tuned for updates on our meetup locations. Can’t wait to see you there—bring your thoughts, your curiosity, and maybe a little caffeine.
